The purpose of a Noise Assessment is to:
- Identify areas in the workplace and any operators exposed to noise levels above the:
- Lower Exposure Action Level (LEAL) (LEP, d) of 80 dB(A), with a limit of 135 dB peak noise pressure.
- Upper Exposure Action Level (UEAL) (LEP, d) of 85 dB(A), with a limit of 137 dB peak noise pressure.
- Identify Octave Band Frequencies, Peak sound pressure levels and Personal Daily noise exposure (expressed as an 8-hour time-weighted average ‘Lepd’)
- Provide a detailed assessment of the suitability of any personal hearing protection provided by the company, based on the results of the survey. Also to give further recommendations on where noise levels can be reduced and to give recommendations on the actions required under the Physical (Noise) Agents Directive, Directive 2003/10/EC, to minimise employees exposure.
- Provide static octave, peak and Lepd area readings in all locations and personal dosimeter readings on specific personnel.
- Prepare Noise maps of all machinery and operator workstations/areas.
Eagle Safety & Environment Limited qualified IOSH / BOHS M503 surveyors, would undertake a noise survey to address all the requirements detailed above and produce a detailed technical report on our findings, together with recommendations against the requirements of the Noise at Work Regulations 2012.
